I am working on a mix that has several files. Is there any way to test it actually works before submitting it in mix page comments?
Yes you can get mix feature to look at your own Gist of links by specifying the Gist Id of links in the MIX_SOURCE Environment variable.
You can start with a copy of the default Gist Link Src and modify it to include your new gist links
